Two weeks ago, Alison in Interiors, Lauren in Interiors, & myself, volunteered in the 5th Annual ZeroLandfill Atlanta Event. This volunteer event collects waste that our industry produces and upcycles it to local artists, non profits, and educators for reuse. The process entails designers & contractors dropping off any unused sample or contruction material that would normally be thrown in the landfill (hence zerolandfill). Volunteers sort, organize, weigh, & distribute the materials to a warehouse where the public can pick & choose to fit their needs. Kudos to all the volunteers this year as they saved over 54,000#'s from entering the landfill! Phew! Also, thanks to Alison for not only introducing us to the event but also for helping to coordinate this feat. Can't wait to take part in next year's 6th Annual ZeroLandfill Atlanta Event. #makingusbetterpeople #thinkbeforesampling
